My nephews blanket

Well I started this project back in april of this year. I did take my time hard core with it. Since it supposed to be a kids blanket but it ended up as a adult blanket in a way. I wanted to use my Bernat Premium Yarn which was in the color of Burgundy. My nephew loves red its his favourite. I used a single stitch for the whole project amd use a 5.5mm hook from knitpicks. I do have to say the premium yarn from Bernat is wonderfully soft almost like baby yarn. Which was awesome for my hands! And plus my nephew will love color and softness as well.

Book Review of Shanghai Girls by Lisa See

I have read one other book by Lisa See and it was wonderful. I saw this book and the second in the series and i had to just read them.

Shanghai Girls captures your imagenation right away. You picture Shanghai right away in the 30s. You also see Pearl and May in your mind. How their life was before their goofed. Also the hard ships of coming to america and dealing with the stereotypes that was put on them when they arrived.

You also feel their pain and joy with what they have gone through and the secrets the had to keep. Right until to the end almost. Do yourself a favor and go read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

Book Review of Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg

I have seen the Movie fried Green tomatoes several times and loved it. So i went looking to see if there was a book. Once i found who the author was i requested it through my local library.

I got giddy once i had in my hands. Right away i was pulled into Ruth’s,Idgie’s and Evelyn’s world. I liked the movie but reading the book gives you so much more. You learn more of what happened at the cafe. You learn of ruth’s and idgie’s relationship. Also about Big George, sispy, gardy, ninny, cleo and the whole gang at Whistle Stop.

There was a few parts i cried during, laughed at, and was shocked over but i won’t reveal where they are in the book. You have to find that out for yourself!

Fannie Flagg does wonderful job pulling you into the book. You can see Whistle Stop in your mind. Your mouth waters hearing of all the food as well. The characters almost become familiar friends that you haven’t seen for many years. I highly recommend that you go read this book and dive into Whistle Stop Cafe.
